.::1) Multimedia Review - You tube VS Google Video::.

The articles title What’s the different between Google video and YouTube? . The articles from nalts.wordpress.com, published on October 31, 2006.

Google Video is a free video sharing website and also a video service from Google that allows anyone to upload video clips to Google's web servers as well as make their own media available free of charge, some videos are also offered for sale through the Google Video Store. The objectives for Google Video are to create a video site with no discernible character or features. Keep it as an entirely different entity, and let it stagnate as the market changes. Google video also is the one-stop shop for all videos just as it is for content and images, a great search tool any video on any site. Google Video is the king of linking video content to relevant ads and a way for small creators to distribute content and get paid a portion of the ad revenue. Google video target content stuff you can find on cable, television, video on demand or your local blockbusters. One of the key advantages if Google over Youtube is the fact that filmmakers can upload longer pieces. It is not unusual, for example, to see clips that run an hour or longer on the site. YouTube videos, by contrast, are capped at 10 minutes.

YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. YouTube was created in mid-February 2005 by three former PayPal employees. The San-Bruno based service uses Adobe Flash technology to display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video-blogging and short original videos The objective for You Tube are invent an easy way to share videos, which evolves organically into an incredibly popular community of viral content. Mostly stolen from television and posted in direct violation to copyright laws. If you get objections, blame the submitters and provide their home phone numbers when lawyers call. You tube can be a new distribution channel for video creators that have great imaginations but low budget. It is also a method by which ‘big media’ could promote and discover new talent. The target content is anything ripped from source. Then it will be mostly video of stoned skateboarders, babbling teenagers and commercials masquerading as ‘viral video’. Although YouTube is one of Google's content network publishers, they also offer their own advertising solutions. Ads run via YouTube advertising solutions don't appear across the Google content network, only on YouTube.

The obvious differences between this both video services are YouTube was constructed with a community in mind, YouTube user interface is vastly better, YouTube is viral functions "Share this video" and "tell a friend" are ridiculously easy, YouTube videos always load and play faster than Google videos, YouTube displays the number of times each video has been played, YouTube’s user account system is more robust and also easier to use and filled with more data than Google’s. YouTube's search functionality is vastly better than Google's. YouTube displays three random images from each video for search returns. YouTube displays trackbacks to each video. YouTube helps users find the related videos.

As a conclusion, I agree with the author’s point of view regarding this difference which is YouTube give better services and application rather than Google Video. The reason I support the authors view because I am one of the user, and have tried this type of video services so I can see the differences is true. However Google Video and YouTube continue to focus on technologies that make the information contained in online video more available and accessible.
